About Idle Entity
What is it?
Idle Entity is the collective name for all my personal projects and endeavours, ranging from custom computers and modding, to software and website design. What's the objective?
The Objective varies in direction and importance, depending on what's going on in the rest of my life and job, but the on-going goal is to build Idle Entity into a fully customisable, scalable, and easy to use Content Management System, that may be available to buy on single purchase license, depending on my level of success. At present, my main blog is updated with IT commentary and interesting support encounters, and occasionally, input from my creative side interests.
An additional on-going directive is a self-sufficient internet gateway for me- ergo, email, web, and other miscellaneous internet services that rely as little as possible on third-party companies.
This looks an awful lot like Adamant IT...?
Adamant IT is an evolution from Idle Entity, and represents my business endevours. It's a front-end for any of my profitable projects, and thus shares a lot of code and equipment under the bonet.
Who is Graham Lord?
I am an IT Engineer and Consultant, and have been in the IT support industry full-time since 2003. I am highly proficient with all three mainstream platforms, Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.
My specialties lay in troubleshooting and repairs of both hardware and software. I undertake repairs that most would simply write off or reformat for the sake of saving themselves the trouble.
Having worked with a small IT Consultancy outfit since education, both full time and contracting, I have experience with setting up a client-server environment in schools and small businesses from design to after-care. I have worked with all manner of clients including small business owners, who need an effective solutions as fast as possible, and with school teachers, who need computers to be simple to use, and very resistant to breakage.
I am well known for being very approachable, honest, and clear when speaking to clients- using jargon when it's understood, and layman's terms when an explanation is needed. I am more than capable of working with others, but I am also very capable when working alone on simple and complicated tasks.
In my spare time I also freelance write for His Dark Media, and maintain my own impartial blog and twitter feed, providing information on relevant news and tips of the IT industry, and other miscellaneous projects, including after-market performance PC modification.
I am an amateur bass player, and an avid music fan.
